Boaters in Canada will be among the safest in the world. With the new Operator Competency Requirements gradually taking effect, it is the law for persons in Canada who operate pleasure craft to take safe boating course and pass a test that is accredited by the Canadian Coast Guard. Passing this test will get you the Pleasure Craft Operators Card (PCOC) that is now required by all person who operate pleasure craft in this country. We specialize in classroom education but also understand the need for online and correspondence education in this vast county of ours.
The Pleasure Craft Operators Card. Mandatory Safe Boating is taught four ways. We offer classroom training, correspondence training, online training and a hands on practical course. Each person learns in different ways and at different paces. Each method has one goal and that is for the student to pass the exam needed to get their PCOC. In addition, each student becoming a safe boater not only for themselves but for every other Canadian on the water. Please read this section - General Information - to learn more about this course and general information about us. There are four ways to the course. 1. Classroom - Register for a four hour classroom class and take the exam that day. 2. Correspondence - Register and have the course material sent to you to study on your own. When you are ready, take the exam at a designated test center. 3. Online - Register and have unlimited online access to the course material until you take the exam at a designated test center. 4. On the Water - After you have taken the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) course, add the knowledge of a hands on practical course. |
